PM Hun Sen Warns Opposition Against Insulting His Strategy

Pursat: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, has issued a warning to the opposition, cautioning them against insulting his strategy shortly after he deleted his Facebook page last night.

Addressing a gathering of nearly 7,000 workers in Krakor district, Pursat province, on the morning of June 30, 2023, Prime Minister Hun Sen emphasized that the opposition has been exerting influence in Cambodia primarily through the use of Facebook. He further warned that if their arrogance persisted, Facebook could face temporary or even permanent shutdown in the country.

"Insulting Hun Sen's strategy is unacceptable," he firmly stated. "Despite losing 14 million followers, I am still connected with the people."

Nevertheless, the Prime Minister clarified that he had no intentions of causing harm to the people. In an effort to prepare for a potential blockade of Facebook in Cambodia, he urged citizens to download alternative social media platforms.

Presently, the Prime Minister utilizes social media channels other than Facebook, such as TikTok and Telegram, where he commands a substantial following.
